MRX4-19/TI is an aftermarket steering saver developed for Mugen Seiki MRX4 and MRX4-R chassis to reduce peak loads transmitted to the servo horn and steering gears. The design targets repeatable impact attenuation with minimal compromise to steering linearity.
Functional description: the component intervenes between servo output and steering linkage as a controlled buffer, absorbing shock impulses that would otherwise be passed to the servo. This preserves actuator life and helps maintain consistent steering response lap after lap.
Installation protocol: replace the OEM saver or linkage mount in the MRX4/MRX4-R steering assembly and verify alignment and clearance before torquing hardware. Confirm unrestricted steering sweep and check for any interference with suspension geometry or wheel travel.
Setup and calibration: following fitment, recalibrate servo endpoints and adjust travel limiter settings so the saver engages at the desired deflection. Validate behaviour with progressive dynamic tests, observing steering return and servo load under impact conditions.
