Technical note on aluminium dampers

This pair of aluminium dampers is provided as a direct replacement for HPI Savage 21, Savage 25 and Savage X models. The titanium-colour finish identifies the parts while preserving the factory mounting geometry, allowing established suspension setups to be retained.

Assembly considerations: the housings replace the original shock bodies and install into the existing towers and lower mounts on the listed Savage variants. Standard hand tools and a hex driver are sufficient for fitting. During assembly confirm piston alignment and seal seating, then set shock oil viscosity and spring rate to match the vehicle setup for predictable damping response.

Setup and performance: aluminium bodies change thermal transfer and surface wear behaviour and can alter the tactile response of compression and rebound when paired with your selected pistons, springs and oil. Use these housings to refine rebound characteristics and to increase housing durability compared with painted or plated plastic units while maintaining standard tuning procedures familiar to Savage setups.
