M4WD-27 M2 x 35 socket button screw technical overview

This M2 x 35 socket button screw is specified as a replacement fastening for Mini 4WD body and chassis applications where consistent thread engagement and correct length are required. The listing clarifies thread diameter and length so competitive builders can confirm fitment with commonly used compatible Tamiya 1/32 Mini 4WD mounting points. The focus here is on fit, serviceability and practical assembly guidance rather than speculative material data.

For pit-side spares and setup work, keeping the correct length screws reduces teardown time during quick adjustments. Inspect thread engagement and plate clearance on each chassis before final torqueing to prevent stripping thin posts. When panels use inserts or captive nuts, confirm insertion depth so the 35 mm length will not contact internal components or sensitive electronics.

Use a proper hex driver sized to the socket head to control torque and avoid cam-out when tightening. If there is any uncertainty about thread pitch, verify with a gauge prior to use and segregate spare screws by length to maintain consistent setup across multiple cars. The item is supplied as a fastener only; no additional fittings or tools are included.

Excellent service, two of the items I purchased were out of stock but was given fair options on refund, store credit or replacement. I opted for replacement as there was a different version available and one of the items did arrive bent and they sent out
Measure post thickness and internal clearance on the chassis, then trial-fit the screw without full torque to confirm that 35 mm clears all components before final assembly.
Use a matched hex key or torque-limited driver and apply consistent torque values across similar joints to maintain repeatable assembly and reduce the chance of head damage.
For repeated assembly and higher loads, brass inserts or backing nuts improve durability over direct threading into thin plastic posts.
Inspect threads for wear and heads for rounding before reuse; replace any screws showing damage to preserve reliable clamping force during races.
