This graphite rear shock tower is a direct replacement for the Tamiya TA05, TA05-IFS and TA05-R rear mount geometry, released as TA05-03/SG. It is engineered to modify shock pick-up points and increase localized stiffness at the mounting area to change rear-end response for competitive setups.
Installation requires standard TA05 hardware and basic RC workshop tools. The graphite component should be torqued progressively and evenly to minimise edge loading on the material, and thread-lock should only be applied where metal-to-metal threads are specified by the chassis manual.
From a setup and tuning perspective, this tower alters load transfer between the shock mounts and rear bulkhead, influencing rotation, traction roll and transient suspension response. Use measured shock position shifts and anti-roll bar adjustments to dial the handling for lap time improvements.
Inspection and service: routinely check mounting holes for micro cracking after track sessions and avoid excessive fastener preload. This component is intended exclusively for scale RC applications.
