Competition-oriented steering saver for M18T

This aluminium steering saver is developed for the XRAY M18T chassis and carries the model designation M18T-01/BU. It replaces the stock interface around the steering linkage to absorb impact energy and protect the servo output and steering components during aggressive use.

The aluminium construction increases stiffness and abrasion resistance compared with typical plastic mounts, aiding retention of precise steering geometry under lateral loads. In practice this reduces variable toe and steering drift, supporting consistent setup lap-to-lap for racing applications.

Installation uses the XRAY M18T steering mounting points and integrates with existing linkages and fasteners. No specialised tooling is necessary beyond standard hex keys. After assembly verify fastener torque, linkage lengths and neutral servo position to ensure optimal kinematic alignment.

For setup tuning, include the saver when validating steering centring, linkage ratios and ackerman/caster adjustments. The component is aimed at improving mechanical durability and repeatability rather than fundamentally altering suspension dynamics.
